Press moulding
Small to mid-scale production of A-class finish carbon prepreg parts.
Press moulding is a process for mid- to large scale production of composite parts using prepregs (preimpregnated textile reinforcement) compressed in a press.
Materials are cut to shapes on a CNC controlled plotter. Further, heated matched tooling is installed in a CNC press. Upon consolidating layers of prepregs at very high pressures heat is applied and material hardens to its final shape. Depending on the project we can use standard prepregs or hot-in hot-out (HiHo) prepreg technology for cycle times as low as 5 minutes. Due to high tolerances and very good optical appearance, finished parts required very little post processing.
All of the tooling is design and produced in house.
